Lori McRae’s Story

Lori McRae, age 35, is a patient care technician in a dialysis center.

When I had my first child about two and a half years ago, spider veins and varicose veins appeared on my right leg, and my left leg developed spider veins. It was painful. My job requires me to stand on my feet pretty much all the time, and at the end of the day my legs ached.

They also swelled up and looked pretty awful. I was embarrassed to wear shorts or swimsuits. Even though I was young, I figured I would have to wear jeans and long pants for the rest of my life.

Health problems were kind of new to me. Before the pregnancy, I used to jog quite a bit and do aerobics at a local gym. I didn’t like being unhealthy and in pain, so when someone referred me to Dr. Martin, I went in for an evaluation and eventual treatment.

The procedure was simple and relatively painless. On my first visit he took care of the varicose and spider veins in my right leg. On the second visit he cleaned up the spider veins in my left leg. The recovery was quick. I was back at work and doing other normal activities within two days.

My legs look and feel a whole lot better. I have no pain at all now. My self-confidence has come back, and I’m very comfortable wearing shorts and swim suits.
